Electrical Safety in the office

#1 Test and Tag

We have spoken about this in some of our previous blog posts, but testing and tagging is one of the most important things that you can have done in your office.  The process essentially involves getting a qualified tester out to your office to routinely test your electrical devices to ensure that they are safe and up to standard.

#2 Visual Checks

Testing and Tagging is a process that is done periodically, so you may want to perform a visual check every now and then to see if anything looks out of place.  Common offenders are electrical cords and power boards – if you see that either of these has smoke coming from it, has burnt out marks, cracks or is sparking when you plug it in, this is a sure sign that something isn’t right.

#3 Electrical Management

One of the final things that you should do is to consider replacing or fixing and electrical devices that are no longer working correctly.  By simply putting it aside, you risk someone else coming along later and plugging the device in.

In today’s blog post, we have outlined some of the ways that you can enhance electrical safety in your office.  If you are looking to get someone out to your Gold Coast or Pacific Pines business, please don’t hesitate to contact the professional team at North Gold Coast Electrical today on (07) 5500 0222.
